Let's be honest, we have all done things as parents that others may not agree with, and that is perfectly fine. Unfortunately, everyone and their mother are going to judge you and offer you their opinions. Here are some things that I would like to share with you:
7. I refuse to let Madison cry if I can help it.
Nothing drives me crazier than when I hear "Oh, just let her cry." I do not feel comfortable when she cries, maybe I am a bit overboard, but she is generally very happy so I am too.
6. Sometimes John gives Madison a 2 liter as a form of entertainment.
I was on the phone with my mom discussing John's Christmas gift and Maddie was not happy about being put down, especially since I left the room. We are entering the realm of separation anxiety. John is not as quick to "rescue" her from peril and tends to offer her whatever is closest to him. I came out of the room to check on her and hear him say "2 liter" in his best high-pitched calming voice. My mom thought it was hilarious.
5. I secretly judge you for what you do with your child.
Okay, not necessarily you, but people in public. If you are ignoring your child who is trying to get your attention while you are on your phone, you get judged.
4. I also judge your parenting skills on how your child acts.
I was carrying Maddie to the car and a little boy around 8 years old said "Give me your money, b****." My first reaction was annoyance, followed by wondering what this child's parents say in front of him.
3. Sometimes I wish that she had stranger anxiety.
People think that it is okay to play with Maddie's legs or hands because she smiles. When was the last time you washed your hands? Are you feeling sick? Do you touch all random strangers? Normally I am pretty nice about it. Other days I wish she would cry so they leave.
2. Maddie is probably (definitely) verging on spoiled.
Madison has great grandparents, Grandma and Pa, and Oma and Grandpa. She is spoiled enough between them.
1. John and I only bought Madison one Christmas present.
It is no secret that I have a huge family. Plus with everyone spoiling her, we decided that it would be more fun to save up now and wait until she will remember.
