               Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog!

     Writing this, my first blog post, is slightly unnerving because I have never really been much of a risk taker. This is probably why I favor cats over dogs- cats don't require outside adventures, but here I am. 
     Taking chances with my writing is something I've gotten better with as my education progressed, by the time I made it to college I was writing in a way that surprised me. I've always enjoyed writing, but I have never acted on the latent desire to share what I write with a larger audience. 
     I have wanted to start a blog for years; I could just never figure out what to write or I would make excuses about why I didn't have time. My daughter Madison arrived in May 2014 and I've been a stay at home mom since, which is made possible by her hard-working father, Johnathon. Fortunately for me, I now have time to try to integrate myself into the freelance community and creating this blog is my first step. 
    I hope that you will continue to read as I strive to better my writing and become a published freelance writer.
