Book Review: Wanderlust by Simon Foster

Where is Polly Jean Anderson? She went missing from The Billabong, an Aussie bar in New York that is owned by Luke Bales.

Luke Bales is about to lose his bar if he cannot succeed where the New York Police Department has failed. His friend Anchor is accused by investigators Malone and Cirianos which may just cause him to lose his coworker and liquor license. Luke is reasonably sure that Anchor is innocent despite some particularly damning evidence, but how does he prove it? Is Anchor being framed?

Wanderlust held my interest from the beginning and the ending surprised me, which was refreshing compared to many modern mysteries. The book had a perfect amount of details that gave just enough away to keep me guessing while subtly foreshadowing what was to come. Simon Foster created characters that were engaging, beautifully flawed, and well-developed.

Wanderlust was a delightful mix of romance, mystery, and a tad bit of humor.
